BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREEis a shrubby tree found plentifully in the highlands of Arequipa; arid Ica and the semitropical and tropical regions of the Amazon rain forests, which produces spiky leaves and small, berry-like fruit which includes a variety of oils, including essential oils. The bark, leaves (2% essential oils), fruits (5% essential oils), resin, oleoresin and berries of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREEare all used medicinally, and the leaves and berries are known for its aromatic, pepper flavor.

BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER has many documented, traditional uses including broad spectrum astringent and anti-microbial against a variety of bacterial, viral and fungal infections and strains; antiseptic (oleoresin) and anti-fungal; for pathogenic bacteria and antibiotic resistant staph infections; anti-ulcerous and anti-tumorous; as a mild diuretic (sap); digestive stimulant; anti-diarrheal, anti-inflammatory vulnerary (oleoresin, wound healer and wound cleanser); anti-Candida for yeast and fungal infections and hemostatic (oleoresin, to help stop bleeding).

Other documented, traditional uses of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER include mildly laxative (aperient related to sap); whole body tonic (helps restore homeostasis in body systems); cardiotonic; for arrhythmia and mild hypertension (may help tone, balance and strengthen the heart); stimulant (when needed); for mycoplasma infections; oleoresin for fractures and toothaches; for rheumatism and joint pain; analgesic (pain-reliever), and hypotensive (may help lower blood pressure.)

BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER is also used in herbal, traditional, medical systems for conditional needs related to ulcers; as a bactericidal Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus; for respiratory distress, including upper respiratory infections, plus gout, idiopathic skin disease and arthritis.

The stems, flowers and fruits of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER are used in the traditional treatment of irregular growths related to tumors. as well as bronchitis, idiopathic respiratory disease, cystitis (urinary inflammation and infection), urethritis, cervicitis, to help address conditional needs related to Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus, for gingivitis, sores, swelling, idiopathic genital disorders, venereal diseases, warts, and may potentially help protect ear, nose, and throat infections.

What is interesting about BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER is that it does not inhibit bacterial growth but may interfere with bacteria's ability to communicate using a naturally produced and sophisticated, chemical, signaling system. known as quorum sensing. The result of this natural phenomenon is that bacteria are tricked to believe that they are alone when they are, in fact, surrounded by millions of fellow bacteria.

Bacteria behave differently when they are in a group. In a group setting, they produce a large amount of toxin die off that can destroy healthy tissue and may work to help dismantle the immune system, which allows the bacteria to spread unchecked to other parts of the body.

Toxin die off is a natural process of breaking down and evicting irregular pathogens, but too much die off can produce loose stools, excessive thirst, and difficult-to-control elimination. BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER may help regulate the rate of microbial die off to help support comfort in the body, and may work to help block bacterial communication pathways, may help disarm bacteria and make them vulnerable to the immune system to be destroyed.

A fruit extract and a leaf extract of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER was shown to lower blood pressure in dogs and rats, as well as may help stimulate uterine activity in guinea pigs and rabbits. Leaf extracts have clinically demonstrated pain-relieving activity in mice and antispasmodic properties in rats and guinea pigs (including uterine antispasmodic actions). In 1974, the anti-inflammatory effect of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE was documented to help treat one hundred patients with chronic cervicitis and vaginitis effectively. In 1995 and 1996, other researchers documented the anti-inflammatory properties of this herb once again.

Natural, documented phytochemistry of BRAZILIAN PEPPERTREE POWDER include catechins, tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, steroidal saponins, sterols, terpenes, and a large number of essential oils. The essential oil present in the leaves, bark, and fruit is a rich source of chemicals (over 50 constituents identified thus far), including biologically active triterpenes and sesquiterpenes, amyrin, behenic acid, bergamont, bicyclogermacrene, bourbonene, cadinene, cadinol, calacorene, calamenediol, calamenene, camphene, car-3-ene, carvacrol, caryophyllene, cerotic acid, copaene, croweacin, cubebene, cyanidins, cymene, elemene, elemol, elemonic acid, eudesmol, fisetin, gallic acid, geraniol butyrate, germacrene, germacrone, guaiene, gurjunene, heptacosanoic acid, humulene, laccase, lanosta, limonene, linalool, linoleic acid, malvalic acid, masticadienoic acid, masticadienonalic acid, masticadienonic acid, muurolene, muurolol, myrcene, nerol hexanoate, octacosanoic acid, oleic acid, paeonidin, palmitic acid, pentacosanoic acid, phellandrene, phellandrene, phenol, pinene, piperine, piperitol, protocatechuic acid, quercetin, quercitrin, raffinose, sabinene, sitosterol, spathulene, terpinene, terpineol, terpinolene, and tricosanoic acid
